I know it was a while ago now, but the most recent cosplay event I went to was Madman Anime Festival Melbourne. My cosplay plans for this went through multiple changes, but finally I ended up going as Sophie from Howl’s Moving Castle. Only a week or so beforehand I bought a secondhand costume from a fellow cosplayer. Now I had the dress I had to get the wig, the hat and apron. It came down to whether I could do all that in time or not as to whether I would actually go as her.
Luckily everything came together well and I got some awesome photos with other Studio Ghibli cosplayers.
